Advocacy

Battersea

The Bridge Church is working with Grace Advocacy
(https://www.graceadvocacy.org/) to offer a free advocacy service,
designed to help vulnerable adults who are struggling with multiple,
complex problems. It mainly operates on Mondays mornings at Bridge
Breakfast (our food-sharing cafe) but we can arrange other appointment
times if needed.
The service is completely free, and there are no strings attached. All our
advocates and volunteers are Christians who are motivated by God's love
and grace for them to show love and grace to others. They benefit from the
training, support, and resources of Grace Advocacy and are subject to its
policies, procedures and management.
Advocates work alongside clients to help stabilise their lives. For example,
we often help clients apply for benefits, including Universal Credit and
Personal Independence Payment. We can also work together on problems
with benefits, access to adult social care, housing, paperwork and
bureaucracy.

If you’d like to start a conversation about whether we help, then either:

● Come to Bridge Breakfast on a Monday morning, 10-11.30am at
Ethelburga Community Centre, 60 Worfield Street SW11 4RA. We can
have an initial conversation (over a drink and pastry!) and arrange an
appointment if needed.

● Or message/call battersea@graceadvocacy.org / 07349 269880.
Please note, that as we are a small, part-time team, there may be a
delay before we are able to get back to you.
